Transactional Analysis

Transactional analysis (TA) is a method of psychotherapy that how an individual copes with social interactions. When an individual communicates with another person, they transact speech from either a parent-like, childlike, or adult-like state. TA looks to determine which state an individual communicates from and why they do so.

TA is effective in treating patients who have difficulty with communication. In addition to this, it has become popular in business psychology and relationship therapy. Individuals who struggle with anxiety disorders or understanding attachment styles may benefit from a course of TA. Patients who have undertaken TA as a therapeutic intervention report that they can navigate conflict and confusion better. TA is a way of teaching patients how they can solve emotional problems better.

Transactional Analysis Glasgow

Understanding how you interact with other people can be quite daunting. We all feel nervous and shy around certain people and feel confident around others. The thought of having to become confrontational is difficult, and here at Psychology Scotland, we acknowledge how challenging a prospect this may be. Therefore, we have prioritised creating a comfortable and hospitable environment that is accessible to all walks of life. Whether you are new to therapy or have existing experience with psychological counselling, we will welcome you to start any one of our programmes. Our methods will build your communication skills to the point where you will be confident entering social situations.

Our expert therapists and professionals will advise you on the right path to developing your communication skills. After undertaking initial assessments, a programme will be chosen that will reflect your needs. At Psychology Scotland, we take your interests to heart, and we want to collaborate with you to work toward an improved state of mental wellbeing. After a course of therapeutic intervention, you will be equipped with knowledge of how to deal with social interactions better. One of our aims at Psychology Scotland is to build you into a better individual. Because of this, you will be able to make better decisions long after you have finished your therapeutic programme.

If you are advised to TA as a form of therapy, you will notice more about how you interact with friends, family, work colleagues, and any members of the public. Any anxieties you may feel surrounding social interaction will be analysed through the new tools you have learnt during therapy. In addition to this, you will be able to think carefully about the ways you communicate. TA is a therapy designed to aid patients in becoming more assertive and contemplative. If you believe these are skills you may need to improve upon, then Psychology Scotland is ready to welcome you to its centre. Taking that first step toward psychological intervention is often the most difficult, especially if you are unfamiliar with the idea of therapy. We understand the challenges you face, and we want to begin creating habits that will improve your outlook on life.
