About Dr Fraser Smith

I provide a wide range of Psychological Therapy within the Glasgow area, through my private practice Psychology Scotland, for people of all demographics experiencing any form of mental health difficulties.

I am a chartered psychologist register with the HCPC and BPS with years of experience and training working within therapy. As a result, I focus on the individual in my work and cater my therapeutic approach to not only what the client desires from therapy, but who they are as a person and how they might like to work. Although all my years of training and experience in therapy and psychology equip me with advance therapeutic knowledge, I ensure I always work with the subjective individual in my therapy room.

For me, the therapeutic relationship between me and the client is central to my work. My goal is for every client I work with to get the most out of every session and I ensure that the developing relationship, a focus on the individual client and the utilisation of my therapeutic skills and expertise caters towards this.

I specialise in working with men's mental health and have worked in therapy with men, researched the field and become a recognised speaker within this area for a number of years now. Therapy can be difficult for men at times and I ensure to make all of my male clients feel as comfortable as possible in order for them to find therapy very beneficial.

However, I work with all adults, teenagers, and young people that experience a wide range of difficulties. I am trained in and provide bespoke therapeutic approaches taking my knowledge and training from forms of therapy such a Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Person-Centred Therapy. As well as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Schema Therapy and Compassion Focussed Therapy.

Training, Qualifications & Experience

I have a wide range of training and qualifications in therapy. I am a recognized Doctor of Counselling Psychology after completing my Doctorate in 2020. I also have other therapy qualifications such as being a recognised NLP practitioner and complete a year of Transactional Analysis training. I also have additional therapy training experience through COSCA and within other areas of work within the therapeutic field.
