Generalised Anxiety

Generalised anxiety disorder (GAD), also known as chronic anxiety neurosis, impacts how a person frames their life. It is common for most people to experience an occasional degree of anxiety. In contrast, GAD is persistent and is present daily. People who suffer from GAD will experience excessive tension with little to no obvious. In some cases, when GAD is severe, physical symptoms can occur. Some symptoms include panic attacks, heart palpitations, digestive issues, and muscle soreness.

There are various treatment methods for GAD. When most people become aware of their anxiety symptoms, they try to improve their lifestyle choices. Improving one’s diet, exercise regime, and relationships can promote mindfulness. However, these can be hard to maintain long-term and may not work in more severe cases of anxiety. Depending on the persistence of anxiety, medication is often proscribed to numb the symptoms. In some cases, medication can result in side effects that exacerbate the anxiety. The most effective form of treatment is a combination of therapy with both methods outlined above.
